Heritage Trail

Starting at the site of the old Steelworks steam engine (5) walk SW along Cadishead Way to the old site of Bob’s Ferry were we can see the Bob’s Ferry Heritage Memorial board. From here we walk down Bob’s Lane towards Liverpool Rd.

At the other end of Bob’s Lane we find another copy of the Bob’s Ferry Heritage Memorial board. bobsferry

Turning right, along Liverpool Rd, we walk to the 2 railway bridges that cross over Liverpool Rd. Underneath the second bridge we find the Railway Bridge Hetitage Board.

Continuing on, through Cadishead, we eventually come to signs for Irlam Station. By following this sign we pass under the railway and up the steps to the station. In the turning circle we find a number of Heritage boards giving the history of the station.

While your here why not go inside the station to see the local Heritage museum and have a nice Coffee and a cake in the 1923 Cafe.
