Davyhulme Nature Reserve

Also known as Davyhulme Millennium Nature Reserve, the area is owned and managed by United Utilities and set along a kilometer of the Manchester Ship Canal’s western bank. It is popular with dog walkers and children on bicycles.

Covering over 9 hectares the reserve comprises a mixed landscape of wetland, woods, water features & open land. It includes a designated Site of Biological Importance. The reserve has been designed to encourage a wide range of outdoor pursuits including bird watching, walking and, cycling. Pockets of meadow make excellent picnic areas (after a dry spell) you would never know you are in the suburbs!
